As for your accommodation during the DDWS, Monday up to and including Friday, you will have the option to stay at the Ibis Hotel Tilburg or at a crash location, which means staying at a student’s place.
At the hotel, you will be enjoying double rooms with bathrooms – equipped with a bathtub. Moreover, every room is equipped with a television with international channels. There is a restaurant and a 24-hour bar. Free Wi-Fi is also offered throughout the hotel. There is also ample parking, for those coming by car. By bus, you can get to the city centre in approximately 15 minutes.
Every morning, you will have breakfast at the hotel. An all-you-can-eat buffet is offered with whatever you want, up to some extent, of course. The buffet features various breads, freshly ground coffee, fruit juices, scrambled eggs with bacon and sausages, and a new seasonal special every two months.
The Ibis hotel is also actively working on reinventing the hotel industry sustainably. Because of this commitment, they have been awarded the ISO 14001 and Planet 21 certifications. They are sustainable, for example, because they serve no endangered seafood, energy-saving light bulbs are used, and recycling of paper, batteries, and glass is being done.
Dependent on the number of participants, it may not be possible to offer hotel accommodation against a lower fare. However, it is still possible to book a stay in the hotel for a higher fare, this will be approximately 80 Euros more. If this is the case, we will contact you and you can always switch your preference in accommodation. Note also that it may be possible for you to be paired with another participant to stay in one room. If you wish to stay with someone else, please note us upon arrival.
In case you want to stay in the Ibis Hotel in between DDWS and Dutch WUDC, this is possible. In this case, we do need to know as soon as possible, so please also mention this when you register.
From Tilburg Central Station and the university, the hotel is accessible by a combined journey of walking and by bus. There are multiple ways to get to the hotel, so the best way to see which journey is the best for you is to use the 9292 app or website. The address of the hotel is Dr. Hub van Doorneweg 105.
We are very glad to be cooperating with the Ibis hotel and are grateful for their hospitality to the participants of the Dutch Debating Winter School.
